Marlo is an Alabama native, who has been living on Daniel Island for almost 12 years with her husband, Travis and her children, Emerson and Sawyer.
She began her children's ministry working at HIS School on Daniel Island as a lead fours teacher, then stepping away from the classroom when the opportunity to lead as the Assistant Director for the program became available. Prior to being at HIS, Marlo taught in Birmingham, Alabama, in a public elementary school and was also blessed to stay at home with her family for many years.
She feels so blessed to have the opportunity to share God's love with so many wonderful kids at HIS School and feels privileged to be working with parents and teachers, teaching chapel weekly and serving at the Children's Family Service monthly.

Melynda Toth, Director of Family Ministry
Melynda has called Charleston home for the past 11 years, where she lives with her two sons, Kienan and CJ, and their beloved dog, Teddy. Her family's connection to Church of the Holy Spirit runs deep—Kienan and CJ began attending Kids Club in 2016 when they were just 2 and 3 years old and later enrolled at HIS School.
Now a full-time human resources professional, Melynda has always had a heart for helping others. Her passion for service naturally led her to leadership roles within the church, first as a member of the Vestry and now as part of the Children’s Ministry. Her sons often serve right alongside her, whether it's helping with events or lending a hand during Sunday services.
The family is also very involved in their local community. When they’re not volunteering or planning events, you’ll likely find them riding bikes, exploring parks, or relaxing by the pool. Melynda also enjoys connecting with her life group, reading, watching movies, trying new foods, and walking the trails.
She is grateful for the opportunity to serve and is especially passionate about teaching children about the love of God.

Jessica is married to Jake Willis, who serves as one of the contemporary worship leaders and is mom to a sweet little girl, Junia. She loves spending time with Jake and their fluffy pups, Louie & Stella, on the beach, or playing outside.
Vestry Leadership
Team
Have you met our Vestry Leadership team? Along with our Rector (Senior Pastor), this team of lay people serves and leads our church. They meet monthly and give leadership and oversight to the congregation’s finances, mission, and ministry. Six of them serve in three year cycles, so each year two new leaders roll on as two who have been serving roll off.
We also have a Senior Warden and a Junior Warden who are elected for one year terms and can serve a maximum of up to four terms. We affirm new members each year at our Semi-Annual Meeting in January. To serve they must meet certain requirements, such as a willingness to pledge a tithe of his or her income, to be a part of a Life Group, and to be committed to the vision and mission of the church. Your Vestry this year can be seen in the photos above.
If you ever have questions about Holy Spirit and our ministry, find one of these folks, or feel free to email our Senior Warden at senior.warden@holyspiritdi.org, or our Junior Warden at junior.warden@holyspiritdi.org.
